Most stations with petrol, though there seems to have been a rumor about another blockade which has prompted some panic buying, hence the greater length of queues! The rumor seems to be completely unfounded but may be based on the news that the government is trying to force the oil companies and tanker drivers to take full responsibility for deliveries next time and is making noises that it will not change the taxation in the November budget.

Things seem to be getting back to normal, except for the queues at some petrol stations. Yesterday was a similar story (though there was less traffic about).

1930: Closed. There is a tanker there refilling the station so it should be open later tonight.
Colne Way (Pendle View) garage, Manchester Road, Brierfield - Rip Off Alert
1930: No queues, no traffic problems, approach from the Nelson end. They are now selling unleaded & diesel at 89.9p (9 or 10p/l above the rest of the garages in the area). Yesterday it was 85.9p. Even the motorway service stations are only selling at 83.9p! Maybe this is a place to avoid when the crisis is over!

1930: Reports that say it was open around lunchtime for 4* and Diesel. It is closed at the moment, though there is a tanker there refilling so it may be open later tonight, if not Sunday.

1930: Small queue, fast moving. Approach from the Padiham end. Police are in attendance directing traffic.

Queues backed up around Lomeshaye Road, around Hibson Road and up to the general Gordon Pub (and maybe beyond), queues into Burnley from the other direction! Police on site.
1230: Reports say that they have enough fuel to last until about Saturday mid-day.
1330: Queues reported to be better than earlier today.
Colne Way (Pendle View) garage, Manchester Road, Brierfield
1330: Small queues, no traffic problems, approach from the Nelson end. They are selling unleaded & diesel at 85.9p (5p/l above the rest of the garages in the area) - maybe a place to avoid when the crisis is over!
ELF Colne Service Station, North Valley Road, Colne
Queues along NV Road, severe traffic congestion. Traffic trying to create a 3rd lane in the middle of the road. Police onsite.
1100: Traffic going towards Keithley from motorway now diverted thru Colne centre and Birtwistle estate. NV Rd is now one way in this area.
1600: Reports are that fuel will run out around 1700.
1630: The road diversion may be lifted after 1700.1740: Still fuel here, now expected to run out between 1830 and 1900. Still a long queue.
